Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit

If you're a movie fanatic, then this little museum is the place to be

The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit, hidden among the duty-free jewellery boutiques on Front Street, is arguably the most unexpected business in the Caribbean. Who would have guessed that Darth Vader, Pinhead from Hellraiser, and Riddley Scott's Alien could be found on St Maarten? But this extraordinary display offers all of that and more. There are exhibits spanning six decades of filmmaking, including remnants from The Terminator, Men in Black, and even The Maltese Falcon.

There's also a fantastic collection of lifecasts, which are the genuine faces of Hollywood icons, ranging from Bogart and Brando to Sean Connery and Jack Nicholson, Michael Jackson, Johnny Depp, and Angelina Jolie. The collection now includes the actual faces of Abraham Lincoln (cast three months before his assassination), Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington (cast in 1778 and 1783, respectively, by French sculptor Jean Antoine Houden), as well as death masks of Oliver Cromwell (1658) and Vladimir Lenin (1924).

The exhibit is the idea of Nick Maley, a Hollywood creature effects expert known as "that Yoda Guy" for his contributions to the development of Yoda for the Star Wars sagas. If you don't know who Nick is, look him up on the internet. He appeared in over 50 films, including Superman, Highlander, Krull, and Lifeforce. He collaborated with Hollywood legends such as Sean Connery, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Harrison Ford (all featured in the exhibit). He was featured in Cinemax and HBO specials, was in The Guinness Book of World Records, and was nominated for an Emmy.

Nick will dedicate purchases from the Yoda Guy Shop and take photos with customers if you can see him there. The Shop sells signed movie memorabilia, posters, antique Star Wars comics, behind-the-scenes images and storyboards... one-of-a-kind signature pieces of Star Wars history that become a family heirlooms.

Nick's well-known Caribbean art has also been shown in galleries in 18 countries and toured the world with UNESCO. Nick and his wife, Gloria, have established the Yoda Guy Movie Museum Foundation, a non-profit organisation that will manage the exhibit's construction. Take this once-in-a-lifetime chance to support the museum and meet a Star Wars celebrity. It is a must-see for art and cinema enthusiasts on all major cruise lines.
